even though the holidays are only 3 days away, i wanted to share our holiday decorations! the house has felt so inviting that it's sad that we'll be taking everything down in just a few weeks.
below is our front door. i added some bells to our real wreath and it's so lovely. by the way, please ignore the hideous stairs (we will be painting them this spring).
our cute countdown snowman is a nice reminder that christmas is around the corner (as you can see this picture was taken a while back).
and one last shot of our tree since no christmas would be the same without a tree. although it's starting to fade quickly it still makes me smile every time i look at it.
i love growing our christmas decoration collection and now i just have to figure out where to store everything once the holidays are over. we've also been burning some great woodwick candles to keep the house smelling like the holidays and listening to sufjan steven's christmas cd. since christmas is only once a year, you might as well go big or go home, right?
now we just need to watch "a charlie brown christmas" and "a christmas story" with some hot chocolate and it'll really feel complete.
"i have always thought of christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only timei know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys" - charles dickens
Nicole! I totally have the same wooden box that your Joy sign is sitting on! Small world!
