Weekend Recap

This weekend included lots of relaxation and outdoor time which is just what I needed. It's amazing what time outside, in nature, does for the body and mind. It's the best kind of reset button.

Friday night, I went to Zumba Toning which I love, because I always leave feeling so strong. Mentally and physically. It's an extended class (75 minutes) and has a lot of weight/ toning songs. It's always a great way to start off the weekend.

On Saturday, we spent the morning working on the yard (I realize this isn't too exciting and seems mundane to share, but it's actually something I really enjoy). We planted new flowers around the hammock posts and we added some trellis for the cucumbers since they are already growing so quickly!
Then we met up with some friends at Smash for lunch. We ate outside in the sun and I had the cobb salad. I didn't get a photo, but it was the biggest salad I've ever seen. Lots of leftovers! We also went into the Sugarboo store. It's so great seeing how successful they are since one of my closest friends has worked for them since the start!
Afterwards, we went for massages and it was definitely the best one I'd had in a long time. It's crazy how much tension and stress we carry around in our bodies. For dinner, we went to Yard House. Their veggie options are so good! I had the Thai noodle salad with one of their veggie street tacos. Jason had the firecracker gardein "wings" and fries. Definitely a "cheat" meal! J also loves their insane draft beer selection and Jameson mules.
We ended the night by walking Townes and watching the movie, Her. I found it very interesting and liked the social commentary about how the more technology and access we have to people, the more lonely and isolated we become. Kind of crazy.

On Sunday, we had the most beautiful weather!
It was sunny with a breeze and only in the 70's so at times it felt like almost like Fall. We headed to Stone Mountain Park and did the 5 mile Cherokee Trail loop. My favorite part about this hike is that it's so close to home (15 minutes) and there are so many different terrains: woods, mountain, lake, creeks, and railroad.

 Hiking fuel essentials!
Pretty magical afternoon for the books.
Once we got home, Townes was pretty exhausted after the 2.5 hour hike. I enjoyed some quiet time and finished this book on the back porch.
We made a delicious dinner with tons of veggies from our CSA and had fresh watermelon (the best part of Summer)! Now I'm just waiting for the fireflies to take over the tree line in our backyard!
