Happy Fall Y'all

Despite loving Summer, I'm ready for Fall!
I'm excited for the leaves to change colors and for perfect nights on the back porch with the chiminea (sadly, we don't have a fireplace...sighs) with apple cider.
I've already got mums on the front stoop and now I've got to get some pumpkins!

Here's a great Autumn bucket list I found (although I must admit that some of these don't apply to me since I don't have kids yet)! My favorites from this list are "go on a nature hike" and "watch "It's a Great Pumpkin,Charlie Brown'" (which is already a tradition in our household...even without kids :))!
We also have a special guest coming to stay with us for a few weeks tonight so I'm excited to show him around the neighborhood tonight and enjoy the first night of Fall!
More to come :)

What are you must excited about for Fall?

Weekly Not-So-Tiny Home: Creekside Cabin

Although this cabin was originally 960 square feet, the owners ended up adding on space to make it 1200+ square feet. So it doesn't classify as tiny by any means, but it's still a relatively smaller space and it's absolutely stunning.
This living room is by far the best room and where you'd find me 24/7. The full wall of windows overlooking the creek is incredible and I love that you can see where the house ended before the addition!

I love all of the storage in the galley kitchen and under the stairs.

Wood floors in the shower...yes please!
Imagine this home in the Fall! I don't know about you, but I'm thinking that I need to make friends with these people. :)

Friday Favorites

Happy happy Friday!
I am loving these inspirational iPhone wallpapers

I know Summer is almost over, but this swimsuit is so beautiful! I also love this dress! #wishlist

This video is incredible + humbling.
The Earth is the size of a marble in comparison to the solar system!

I can't get over how sweet this dog is! This made my day.

How have we still not been to Banff? Canada looks like pure magic.

This movie looks so sweet and reminds me how much I love Robert De Niro:

I am counting down to the weekend!
The deck should be done this week (well the construction piece) and we've got some errands to do around the house. Otherwise, it's the grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary! Pretty impressive, hey?
On Sunday, I'll be volunteering for Lifeline and hopefully helping some cute pups find their forever homes!
What are your weekend plans?

Friday Favorites

TGIF!
It's been such a great week! Due to the holiday, my company gave us off Thursday + Friday and there have been so many awesome birthday wishes and celebrations!
With the rainy weather today, I'm wishing I was at any of these top Florida swimming holes. Bucket list!

Found these 4 keys to responding instead of reacting super helpful. Deep breaths are always the best!

This Chris Farley documentary looks so good. I just watched a SNL marathon for a bit yesterday and it reminded me how talented he was (so much physical comedy skills for a heavy guy)!

This kitten video is precious. Wait for the surprise, it's worth it!

Check out some of the last photos taken of Frida Kahlo. She was so magnificent.

Can reading make you happier? I knew there was a reason I enjoyed it so much.
"Reading has been shown to put our brains into a pleasurable trance-like state, similar to meditation, and it brings the same health benefits of deep relaxation and inner calm. Regular readers sleep better, have lower stress levels, higher self-esteem, and lower rates of depression than non-readers. "

Hope you have an awesome holiday weekend and get outside as much as possible!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!
This quote is making me happy this morning. Reminders like this nice to read, and often. :)

Really interesting article about back pain and how some cultures have zero back pain issues. Must be nice (especially with age, am I right?)!

This pin is speaking my language!

Check out the world's most remarkable trees. Pure magic.

Life lessons from Nick Miller. He's my favorite character on "New Girl."

I need this mug. Perfect for back porch coffee time. :)

Advice for those in their 30's.
My truths: #1, #5, #6, #14, #18, and #35. I need to get better at #2, #16, #21, #23, and #24.

Liz Lemon is the best. #myhero

Lover's Point in California. Bucket list addition.

Incredible letter to all men from one of my favorites. I totally agree on her stance on what makes a man sexy...and guess what? It's not apathy.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I'm in LA next week for E3 and looking forward to seeing my friend, Lily!

Weekly Tiny Home: Cozy A-Frame

Although I never need an excuse to go back to the Redwoods, this cute A-frame in the Redwoods of
Cazadero, California is making me want to go back sooner than later! Only 1 hour and 45 minutes from San Francisco, this small A-frame is perfect for the adventurer who appreciates peaceful evenings!
Super cozy bedroom...I love that they kept the darker wood in the loft and have the white panels on the first level.
Love the layout and use of space (i.e., making the most of the space under the staircase).
I could live in this place year round!
This place is available for weekend, weekly, and monthly rental at AirbNb.

Now I'm wistful for the Redwoods...
Enjoy!

Life Lately

Sooo....hello, again.
Life has been crazy busy and filled with long work days and the need to be outside as much as possible (when it's not raining in ATL these days). I've missed this space so hopefully I can get back more often!

A lot has been going on in the last few weeks so figured I'd share some highlights!
Spring time means updating the garden boxes and refreshing the perennials.

My niece, Brittany, lives closer to Decatur now so it's awesome to be able to see her more!
Trying to stay active and in the gym as much as possible. This lovely lady keeps me inspired and accountable! #workoutdirty

Amazing homemade bibimbap meal with sesame oil rice, shitake mushrooms, asparagus and swiss chard. YUM!

I got nominated for a sales award at work. It was really humbling and thoughtful. I feel really lucky to have a great boss and team around me. PS - the day after this award, my purse with my computer, phone, and car keys was stolen. Irony?

Over Memorial Day weekend, lots of time was spent in the yard and exploring new local hikes (especially hikes with water for Townes to play in).

Mornings like these are my favorite.
Mornings like these are Townes's favorite.

 Our new go-to spot.

The Decatur Arts Festival. Actually bought a piece from Bennett Art Gallery.

Stubborn dog. Sometimes he won't come in after a walk so this is what we have to resort to. SMH.

Arabia Mountain adventures!
Awesome dinner at Superica!

Dinner at Seasons 52 (finally used a gift card - thanks Beth and Doug)!
Vegetarian sampler.
Backyard views.
Haircut.
My favorite class, cardio funk. #workoutdirty
Atlanta views.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Stay tuned for the weekend recap later this week.
Now back to the grind...

How the heck have you been?
