Happy Weekend!

So happy it's the weekend!
I'm excited to spend some time with J (he didn't leave work until 9 PM last night)! I'm looking forward to being outside as much as possible (it's 66 degrees today).

It's been a busy week, but thankful for a sushi date with one of my favorite girls on Wednesday and for Zumba! It's been nice getting back in the gym routine (I'm even down 3 lbs this week).

Next week will be super busy with work travel + a mini surgery for me. I'll try to drop by before then!
Wish me luck!

Radical Simplicity

For my husband's 30th birthday, his best friend bought him the book "Radical Simplicity" by Dan Price. Everyone joked that J never finishes any books, but with this book, he proved them all wrong.

Dan's message is “You can live a life of freedom, in harmony with the rhythms of nature, and your own internal rhythm and creativity. You can live very well with very little money. That’s what I’ve done, and I can show you how.” The book illustrates the way he lived and how his life evolved by living minimally. Although the discussions with J about this book didn't make me want to go live in a hobbit hole, it did get us thinking about living more "authentically."

Lately we've been swooning literally over the Tiny House Swoon website. The website shows tiny homes all over the world. We are very fascinated by these homes and would love to build one eventually. While planning for a Spring yard sale, it's amazing all of the clutter that we have in our home. I have an aunt + uncle who moved into a camper and they have no desire to ever live in their home again! I think there is something really wonderful about living with the little that you need.
We definitely have some plans to change things around our household.

In the meantime, check out these incredible tiny homes!

Do you have any wish to live more simply? How do you try to implement these changes?

Which Wes Anderson Character Are You?

Thankfully it doesn't usually take much to make me smile. Today this quiz is making my day.

Like most people my age, I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan (read more here and here). My answers lead me to Suzy from Moonrise Kingdom, but maybe I wish I had gotten Mordecai! At least both have a sense of adventure in travel.
So you'll have to let me know - which character are you?

First Day of Spring

Happy First Day of Spring y'all!

There are so many things to look forward to: birds chirping, sunshine, pretty blooms, and best of all, warmer weather!

Sadly there are also a few negative things: allergies and yard work.
Oh well! I'll definitely be making the best of the longer days. Time to start running again!

What are your favorite parts of Spring?

The Great PNW

Have y'all heard of The Great PNW
They are a couple who did a Kickstarter campaign to get help in producing a clothes + product line featuring the Great Pacific Northwest! They just launched their online shop with tons of great t-shirts, hoodies, prints, and more. They even have a tumblr featuring beautiful spaces in the PNW. Their styles are perfect for PNW-enthusiasts. Makes me wish we were there now with the scenery + close friends!
At least we've got a potential late Summer visit in the works!

Here are some of my favorites from their site. Hope you enjoy!

And The Verdict Is In!

Tonight J + I are going to enjoy a special date night out at Sun In My Belly to celebrate our final decision! We have decided to stay in Atlanta/ Decatur! For now, anyways.

After weighing out all of the options (including my job), we made the decision to stay put. We loved the idea of taking off for a new adventure, but we figured we should try to move somewhere on our bucket list if we're going to give up being close to all of our families and friends. I will say that after hearing about all of the magical parts of Grand Rapids, I still want to go travel there (in the Summer preferably)!
So tonight we'll toast to a major eye-opening few weeks of reflection and to all the lovely things to come...especially the warm weather this weekend!
I want to thank everyone for all of their advice, well-wishes, and support. To my closest friends + family, thank you for endearing my weeks of uneasiness and rambling.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Color Obsession: Mint

Along with the rest of the world right now, I'm all about some mint colors. My mint shorts, pictured above, were my favorite pair all last Summer so I can't wait to pull them back out now that the warmer weather is showing itself recently.

Here are some of my favorites lately!

Should We Stay or Should We Go?

It's been awfully quiet around this space for the past 2 weeks due to a big opportunity for our family. After flying up to Grand Rapids, Michigan, J has been offered a position there. We weren't looking for this opportunity, but it appeared! All of the sudden we were having to make many pro's and con's lists, start looking at housing options (including renting out our home), and deciding what we want for our future. We've also had to consider the major shift of being born-and-raised in the South and braving those Michigan winters!

I am so proud of J for exploring his options and finally recognizing how talented he is! This has been such an eye-opening experience about taking risks and putting yourself out there. Everyone has been so supportive and we couldn't be more lucky.

It's times like these that you wish you could see into the future - or have someone make the decision for you! Either way, we have grown stronger together during these weeks of reflection and contemplation.

We still haven't made a final decision, but once we do (should be any day), I will let you know!

So I have to ask - what would YOU do?

Weighing Our Options

This week has been quite the roller-coaster ride in our household. To say the least!

We have had an opportunity come up that could change our whole lives. Now we are in the process of weighing out the pro's and con's of the situation. This weekend will be spent really brainstorming next steps for our future.

I'll keep you all posted! Wish us luck!
