Happy New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year's Eve!
2014 went by so quickly so it feels bizarre to be heading into 2015!
This year was pretty good to me: I turned 30, traveled to Europe, spent many weekends in the mountains, got promoted at work, celebrated 5 years of marriage, stood by my best friend in her wedding, got to meet our best friends' new baby boy, saw the Grand Canyon, got into the best shape of my adult life (and now working on getting back there - it's so hard when it's cold and dark early!), and went surfing!
I have some goals for 2015, but this list is a great inspiration.

Here are some other wishes for the new year:
Don't forget to surprise yourself! So sweet!

I could definitely use more of all of these things!

I may need to fill this out and hang it at my desk or on my fridge!
What would yours say?

Here are some other quotes to start off your new year right.

Finally, to start the year off right at midnight, make sure to have your favorite champagne cocktail!

Cheers to a fabulous 2015!
See you next year!

Wishlist: Mug Shots

Mug Shots

One of my favorite parts about Winter and the cold weather is all of the hot drinks: hot chocolate, cider, tea, coffee, and hot totties! :)
I wanted to share some of my favorite mugs. I love vintage, ceramic mugs and inspirational mugs.
The ceramic mug on the top right is really cool, because it's a handwarmer mug (make sure you buy the right one for your dominant hand)!

The middle mug with the poppies has a loose leaf tea strainer inside...perfect for oolong!

Here are some past shots of me enjoying my favorite personal mugs!
What's your favorite mug? Stay warm, friends!

Merry Christmas!

 Merry Christmas y'all!
Christmas Eve is always my favorite since the anticipation of the following morning is so great and getting into bed with new pajamas (my family has a tradition of giving new pajamas to open on Christmas Eve night - it's a tradition that I will continue when I have children of my own...one day?).

Sadly J's extended family has come down with the flu so the extended family celebration has been cancelled, so we'll just spend Christmas Eve night with my immediate family.
Due to my Mom's lack of cooking skills (no offense, Mom!) and my Dad being Jewish, we typically do the stereotypical dinner at a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Eve. It's always a nice break from the heavy, Southern Christmas cooking so I love it! Schezchan tofu and veggies for the win!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and get plenty of down time with your loved ones. I'm looking forward to finishing up the little bit of gift wrapping (with a nice glass of wine, maybe)!
Now I'm off to keep Townes from getting into the presents under the tree...sneaky pup!
Sending you all lots of kisses and hugs!

Dreaming of Sleeping Porches

Maybe it's the Southern portion of my upbringing, but sleeping porches have always been a dream for me. It also may have something to do with the fact that I love naps :)

Here are some of my favorite sleeping porches from all around the web...they all make me wish for warmer weather, crickets chirping, and fireflies.

And I can't forget the ultimate sleeping porch after a day spent surfing!
Hopefully one day I'll have a sleeping porch, but in the meantime, it sure is nice to dream!

Holidaze Playlist

The Christmas countdown is officially on! I can't believe it's only 3 days away.
The good news is that I'm finally feeling some of the holiday spirit (better late than never, right?) and this photo and playlist is helping me survive the last 2 days of work.

Below are some of my favorite holiday songs. Enjoy!

What is your favorite Christmas song?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! Can you believe Christmas Eve is 5 days away!
I love this wood pile photo on the side of this French chalet. Perfect way to ensure you stay warm this winter! :)

For us Atlanta folks, these things are legit. It's so true that no one that lives in Atlanta, calls it Hotlanta!

I went to see the movie St. Vincent last weekend and it was fantastic. Go see it now.

I can't get enough of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake! This skit is another hilarious classic.

These signs that you're an old soul kind of freaked me out...since each sign was spot on for me. No wonder those age quizzes always guess me a lot older than 30! :)

Like the rest of the world, this commercial made me tear up...and miss my grandparents!

Storycorp's 2014 most fascinating people. Such inspiring and heartbreaking stories.

Hope your weekend is magical and isn't spent running around too much for those last minute gifts. Sit back and try to enjoy the Christmas lights and hot chocolate!

Weekend Recap: Best Friends' Wedding Edition

I'm a bit behind on last weekend's recap since I've been on the road (last time for the year) for work!
Last weekend was a whirlwind and I definitely am looking forward to some time spent recharging...I'm running on empty for sure.

On Friday afternoon, I took half of the day off to go help my best friend, Beth, get ready for the wedding and rehearsal dinner. I thought we'd work on some flower arrangements for a bit and then get manicures, but we ended up making all of the flower arrangements, bouquets, and boutonnieres up until the last minute! We hurriedly got dressed and then headed to the chapel for the rehearsal dinner

Beth's sister, Maggie, and her husband hosted the wonderful rehearsal dinner. A party can't go wrong with a fire put and Willy's Mexican taco bar! And impromptu dance parties...that I seem to interrupt :)

On the morning of the wedding, we all got ready at Maggie's house and then headed to the chapel. Beth's mom, Susan, made the amazing veil! Beth was the most stunning bride (Doug wasn't too shabby either)! :)

After the reception (and photos), we headed to 5 Seasons Brewery for the reception. The food and dancing were pretty awesome!

I couldn't be happier for Beth + Doug! I know they are happy that the wedding was wonderful and that now they are officially Mr. + Mrs. Saylor!

On Sunday, I had my sweet friend Chanel's baby sprinkle for little Evelyn that is due in less than 4 weeks! Isn't the cake so cute! It was very tasty too.
 The whole group of ladies!
It's crazy that Shayda, Chanel, Catherine, and I have all known each other since middle school!
See...I told you it was a busy weekend!
