Wise Words Wednesday

My favorite part about words is that each interpretation can be completely different respective to the reader.
I've always loved reading quotes and that moment when you stumble across an idea or grouping of words that stops you in your breath. No matter how simple or complex, each quote can stir different emotions for different people.

With that being said, these prints from Etsy seller, White Cellar Door, are giving me that sense of pause today. I love the simple typewriter text and blank background...the words steal the spotlight anyways.

All of these quotes, for various reasons, seem like magic to me in my current position in life. These words are sweet reminders for personal reflection.

What is your favorite quote these days?

It's Business Time

These quote-stamped pencils from Etsy seller, Earmark, are awesome. They sell sets of 12 pencils (of your choice) for $14 - these would make a great gift! These pencils would also be funny conversation starters in office meetings. :)

I especially love the "business time" pencils, because it makes me think of this scene from Flight of the Conchords...makes me laugh every time!
Enjoy.

featured etsy seller: timberps

isn't this pillow insanely awesome?
i may be biased due to my undying love for beards, but i think it'd be a cute addition to any household!
i've always been a huge fan of the etsy seller, timberps (i featured one of their t-shirts here) and i am excited to see them branch away from t-shirts and add pillows to their assortment. however, still do love their t-shirt designs!

enjoy! xo

bob the bear

how amazing is this fake taxidermy bear head?
i'm not sure how many rooms could pull off this look, but i'm into it.
despite the plaster material, the eyes and the fur appear so lifelike!

would you put this up in your home? what color would you want?
so fun!

if you want to be happy

i am a huge fan of this print from marykate mcdevitt. i love the graphics but mostly i love the quote. with the new year coming up, this quote will be my mantra and my inspiration. although i am a very happy person, i think we could all afford to truly make up our minds to be more content. ♥

calendar girl

this weekend, i purchased my niece a 2011 horse calendar [the girl loves horses] and when i gave it to her it hit me that this year is flying by and soon enough even coming to an end! with all of the upcoming holidays rapidly approaching, i realized that 2011 will be here before we know it. i decided to look around at calendars to replace our current "office" calendar [thanks lilly!] and i found this adorable fabric calendar from lisa rupp!

although it's not super realistic to keep all of our appointments and commitments on a calendar like this, it sure is pretty to look at!

do you have any calendars that you're already eyeing for 2011?

p.s. happy birthday to my mother-in-law! i hope all your wishes come through this year. xo

cake topper

i can't believe our one-year wedding anniversary is less than a month away. i will never forget our wedding and how wonderful it was; however, it's awfully nice to be past that adventure and on to the next one (especially in terms of the stress levels i had last year at this time). i have been asking j if he'd like me to have our simple one-tiered wedding cake (which we only used it to cut during the reception) recreated to eat on our anniversary, but we haven't decided whether or not we will just yet.

here is a close up the cake we had and the banner i made for it.

i also wanted to share our amazing cake topper with you all. we got this adorable, personalized cake topper from etsy seller, melabo. she was absolutely fabulous and i would definitely suggest buying one of her pieces. i couldn't have been more thrilled with the customization and care.

we will cherish this cake topper forever and hopefully we'll be able to pass it down for generations.

what did you use as a cake topper? was it passed down? handmade? i'd love to know! xo

return to sender

now that we have bought a home, i am always on the lookout for some great personalized return address stamps. i love these personalized stamp with the wood handle. and the caligraphy is stunning. these could have come in very handy when i was sending out wedding invitations!

i also love primele's place cards! not that i'll be needing any anytime soon, but i love the wood grain background and handwriting.

wouldn't it be nice if we could all write so lovely?

today is my ukelele lesson and i'm so excited. want to see what i've been working on since last week? you wouldn't think it would sound as good on the uke, but i really enjoy playing it.

happy one day away from friday! ♥

la montgolfière

i love these images of these hot air balloons. they make me wish i could see all of the world from the basket of one of these huge balloons. i love the vibrant colors and beautiful surroundings. i think it's incredible that the hot air balloon is oldest successful way of carrying humans in flight.
