Friday Favorites: Happy Spring!

Happy Friday and first day of Spring!
Life already feels significantly better with the slight weather change!
Wouldn't it be great to walk around this meadow? Pure magic!

Speaking of weather changes, I bought this swimsuit and I love it!

This quote totally represents my current state. Work has been so crazy and I'm not sleeping at night with all of these thoughts and "to do's" running through my head. Help!

Did you know about today's cosmic triadOn March 20, 2015, three extraordinary celestial events converge: the March equinox, a total solar eclipse, and a New Moon which is also a Super Moon! Amazing!

Looking for some amazing destinations in the US? If so, check out this link. It's so hard to choose which should be our next adventure and it's sad how few of these I've seen...need to fix that immediately! Which would you choose?

What an insane tunnel discovery! You can pay to camp inside!

Hope you have a fun weekend!
I'm looking forward to tomorrow with sunshine and 75 degree weather! If you need to find me, I'll be outdoors!

Weekend Recap

Well the week is almost over and I haven't had a chance to blog all week...oops!
I wanted to share my weekend since it was so restorative.
J was out of town at SXSW so I tried to make some plans to stay busy, but also take some R&R time.
On Friday afternoon, I went to my first chiropractor appointment ever with the lovely Amy. She totally sold me based on my first appointment and I can't wait to go back. Since her office is in Little 5 Points, I stopped by my favorite natural food market, Sevananda
I came home and had a great salad with cucumber + onion salad and falafel. YUM!
Friday night, I got lucky enough to have two ladies (Beth and Jehan) join me for Zumba! As usual, I was a sweaty mess afterwards, but had so much fun.
After Zumba, we came back to my house to shower and then head to dinner at Sobban. It's a Korean-style restaurant right up the street from my house, yet I'd never been (it was even featured on Andrew Zimmern's show). We met up with Destin, Sarah, and Doug for dinner and the food was incredible!
As usual, I was taking pictures and annoying everyone! :) Worth it!
The table shared the andouille and porkbelly appetizers.
I got thJapche which had sweet potato noodle, togarashi tofu, shitake, chives, and seasonal vegetables. It was incredible. I also had a side of kimchi miso kale (pictured above with the pork belly) - so good!
If you live in ATL, go immediately!
After dinner, Jehan and Beth came back to my place and we had awesome girl talk until around midnight. Some times you just need to have girl talk, you know?

On Saturday morning, I headed up to my dear friend Jen's house to take our dogs on a walk. Townes and Benga do so well together (i.e., love each other, but basically leave each other alone. Ha!).

We went to this awesome, huge park called Little Mulberry Park.
I am so lucky to have such incredible women in my life and Jen is one of the best!

So much fun! I can't wait for more lady dates with this gem. ♥
Saturday night, I made an awesome salad and watched a few chick flicks: Love, Rosie and Before Midnight. I was so happy to finally see the third installment of the triology after watching the first two films. As to be expected, this film did not disappoint at all, but was definitely a bit depressing!

On Sunday morning, Townes and I went for a long walk and enjoyed the incredible, sunny weather. I made a smoothie and sat in the backyard for a bit. Afterwards, I went to Zumba to try out a new instructor. She was tough, but I enjoyed the workout.

Later that afternoon. I headed to my folks' house to get in their hot tub. It was great getting lots of vitamin D (and some tiny tan lines) and catching up with my mom and sister!

Another salad and my partner in crime:
On Sunday night, I took a nice walk with Townes to soak up as much of the sunshine and warm weather as possible. Restorative weekends like this are few and far between these days so I was grateful for each moment.

The graffiti at the top of this post is also from my walk on Sunday - in a spot I typically don't walk by so it felt very serendipitous!

How was your weekend?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!
Recently NPR reported that a lost city in Honduras was just discovered.
It's kind of amazing that findings like this still happen!

Great quote! With work being so hectic and busy lately, I have been proving this message daily!

Yoga moves that can be done at your desk. Perfect for all us folks that sit all day (sadly).

Such a cute DIY!

Heck yeah. I'll definitely watch this!

One last quote to start the weekend off right!

Hope y'all have an incredible weekend!
I'm looking forward to working out, girl time, and possible jacuzzi time with the family on Sunday!
What are your plans?

Wise Words Wednesday

Some days I feel like I was meant to be a 1960's flower child or live in a small home in the mountains or woods or along the beach. Now that it's Spring (well, almost), I plan on being outside in nature as much as possible. Even when I'm just in my own backyard in the hammock or sitting on the stairs watching Townes play in the yard, there is such a great feeling of serenity. Like the saying goes, get lost in nature to find yourself. :)

Weekly Tiny Home: Small Swedish Home

This week's tiny house is a 613 sq. ft. home in the woods of Sweden.
My favorite part of this home is the huge outdoor porch since technically the perks of a small home is that it encourages one to live outside of the home more often! It'd be great to have solar panels on the roof and then cute string lights on the porch.
The white interior makes the space feel very open and clean. I would personally prefer a few wooden accents (i.e., beams).
The kitchen is small, but efficient and the grey, open shelving is perfect in this space.
Now back to my favorite part of the house! :)

Weekend Recap

 What a wonderful weekend!
I'm still trying to recover after having to spring forward (i.e., losing some sleep) and running around all weekend. Thankfully I got plenty of Vitamin D and sunshine !
On Saturday morning, I headed to my dear friend Caroline's baby shower. The hosts did an incredible job - the decorations and food felt like a perfect Pinterest board. Caroline is so loved and it showed! That baby of hers sure is lucky! I got to spend time with my favorite lady ever, Meredith. We had the best time catching up and eating cheese blintzes. :)

 The momma-to-be and me. ♥
The baby shower favors included a massive cookie, Belgium chocolates, and a cute candle!
After the shower, we spent some time in the front yard enjoying the sunshine. Townes kept going to lay on the concrete stairs in the shade since it was so warm - little buddy is not going to be happy come July!

Then we headed to our neighborhood nature preserve to explore (i.e., walk Townes).

On Saturday evening, my sweet friend, Kim, invited me to a Zumba event celebrating Erick Santana's 10 year anniversary of being a Zumba instructor/ trainer. Erick was actually the instructor who certified me to teach over 2 years ago (see funny picture here). Thankfully it wasn't too cold since the event was outside...the temperature definitely wasn't an issue once we started moving!
Apparently there were over 300 people there - pretty amazing!

If you look right in the middle, you can see Kim and me in red (we didn't plan to match by the way)!
We ended up dancing for 2.5 hours so I was pretty beat (and hungry) by the time the event ended. Such a fun way to spend the night! Thanks Kim!

On Sunday morning, we headed to East Palisades to go hike along the river. I could really get used to this weather - c'mon Spring!

When we got home from hiking, we did some yard work (which hopefully means hammock time this weekend) so prep for the Spring.
The sweetest pup in the world...
Perfect, simple flowers from the backyard camellia bushes.
We ended the weekend at my in-laws' with a cookout and a movie night...and wine. :)
Hope your weekend was one for the books and that it was spent soaking up sunshine!
