European Adventure Recap: Part 1

Ahh, Europe...be still my heart!
This post was oddly hard to write - partly because there is so much I want to share (aka a million photos), but also because it makes my heart hurt a bit.
The magic that makes up the small streets and intricate details on the buildings takes my breath away.

When I was landing in Paris, I could actually see the Eiffel Tower from my window (you can't make it out in the photo sadly, but it's right to the left of the smoke stack in the picture above). Even from high above, it was so impressive.

Lily and Jeremy were kind enough to meet me at the airport to take me back to their neighborhood of Paris, Vincennes. They are there house sitting for 5 weeks (along with 2 sweet pups, 2 turtles, a hamster). It was a quick Metro ride from Vincennes to all of the other areas of Paris so it was great, because it was nice to come back to a quiet neighborhood each night.
Our first stop was the Marais neighborhood of Paris to get falafel at L'As du Fallafel. Unfortunately, we got it to go just as it started to rain so we huddled under a stoop and then decided to rest a bit (and eat some baguette and cheese) at the apartment before heading out that night.

We went to Le Perchoir, a rooftop bar, to get drinks. The view was unbelievable and thankfully we made it before sunset.
Aren't they the cutest?

One more of the view, for good measure of course!
Then we stopped at Café Charbon for one last drink (by the way, their namesake beer was really good and cheap)! Of course, the night wouldn't have had a proper end without crepes. We went to Lily and Jeremy's favorite spot and I got a one with Nutella and bananas. So amazing!

Pure happiness...

On the second day, Lily and I headed out for a girls' day. Our first stop was the massive department store, BHV (Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville), to do some belated birthday shopping! Lily found the most adorable dress! Afterwards, we walked the city - Notre-Dame de Paris, by the beaches along the Seine, the Ponts des Arts, The Louvre, and more. We even stopped for panini's (tomato and goat cheese)! Although we had rain off and on all day, it was still a magical day, because it was still Paris...

We had a lady's tea date at Ladurée for macarons. We shared the raspberry, coconut, and salted caramel mini macarons. It was very fancy and tasty!

And naturally, on our way home we had to stop for baguettes!
 Stay tuned for part 2!

Bisous!
